The Dark Knight

Tonight I went for the second time to see the movie, The Dark Knight. The first time I saw it was the first night it came out. I went with my youth group and we saw it at its first showing at 12:01 a.m. I love the movie and I think it is the best movie ever made so far! Most movies I see I can only watch once and then the second time I see it it gets boring. Well, with this movie I could literally sit and watch it all day long. And honestly, the joker made the movie (Heath Ledger was the best joker ever! He will never be replaced!) I would recommend this movie fro everyone (except for really little kids who might get scared.) I was reading Sunday that the movie made $314 million dollars in the first ten days it was out and then I looked at the sales for the first night it came out and on the first night it came out they had made about $18.5 million dollars in just one night! That is pretty amazing!

Answer to Prayers!

Today we were out on the boat all day long. We left the house at about 9:30ish. We fished around a bit and also tanned or for me, burned. As we anchored the boat at an Island we ate lunch, relaxed, and swam around. Then we headed back for the pier as it was about to rain. Once we got back the boat all hooked up to the car and got settled for the drive home, it started raining a bit. Once we got home we cleaned the boat and the dog! I had a few pictures to share, but unfortunately my camera is no longer alive (it drowned.) As we were heading into the water at the island I forgot to take my camera out of my pocket until a few minutes later. I took it out and let it dry, but it did not work. Fortunately my prayers were answered. I have been debating over the past few months on getting a really nice camera or getting a laptop. I started praying about it and asking God witch one I should get. Now I know! So basically, we had a really fun day and my parents are in San Fransisco!!!! No Parents!!!

My parents left this morning on there anniversary trip to San Fransisco, California. This week me and my sister will be staying with my aunt, uncle, and cousins who live about 10 minutes away from our house. We will be going to the pool, venturing out into the open sea on my Uncles boat, and just chilling. I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks for many reasons. First is that we get to spend a lot of time with our family and second is that on August 4 we my sister, cousin and I leave for Lake Placid with our youth group for youth camp. I am so excited about youth camp and cannot wait to share with you what happened this year!!! So stay posted to see what we are doing this week and then what happened at youth camp!

P.S. If you would like to read each day about my parents trip to San Fransisco you can read my mom's blog at http://www.thejourneyx4.blogspot.com/.

Texas De Brazil

Last night we celebrated my cousins 15th birthday at Texas De Brazil. I had never been there before and it was great! The food was amazing and the waiters were so kind and friendly. They pured your drink for you, they put your napkin in your lap for you, and they even folded your napkin for you. The salad bar was huge and there was a huge variety of meat. Everything from chicken to lamb to beef, they had it all.

In case you haven;t been there before this is how it goes. You sit down and there is a little card next to you that has a green side and a red side. You flip the card to green when you want meat and when you don't want any you flip it to red. They have waiter guys that walk around with meat on a stick and when you want something they will cut some off for you and you just take it of the stick. It is all you can eat and very delicious. Although pricey, I think it was worth it!

Paradise Cove

Today me and my cousin Brittni were invited by our other cousins from West Palm Beach to go to CB Smith Water Park. It's kinda sad that I live right across the street from CB Smith Park, yet I have never been to the water park! Although it was a partly cloudy day, it was a lot of fun. We rode both of the water slides a number of times and we rode the lazy river at least 10 times around. They also had a huge bucket of water over the water park that would tip over every couple of minutes. Me and my other cousins would stand where the bucket would dump and then after it dumped we would swim around the park place and then wait again. The only bad part of the day was that there were so many camps there! Although our day was cut short due to rain, we made the most of it. It was a lot of FUN!

Final Sanibel Update

(if you have not read my first post click HERE. If you haven't read my second post click HERE.)

This morning we woke up at about 6 am. We walked the beach and were able to see the sun rise. It was an amazing sight and I was able to get some really good pictures. After we walked the beach for a while we went back to the hotel and went back to bed for a couple of hours. Once we got up the second time we at breakfast and got everything packed up and ready to leave. On our way out of the Island we stopped by the Lighthouse on the Island. It was a very cool and old lighthouse. We had to park in a parking lot and then walk a little bit to the lighthouse. While we were looking at the lighthouse with a couple of other people, we were able to see rain crossing the beach towards us. We all started sprinting towards the cars. We were able to make it in time and were then on our way home. We stopped for lunch at McDonald's and then we stopped at a Wal Mart for my sister to get basketball shorts and we also found flip-flops for 1 dollar.

We made it home at about 3:30 and unloaded everything by 4. We were fortunate to be able to have someone make us dinner. At 6 we went over to my Aunt's house for dinner to celebrate my Uncle's 48th birthday. It was a great day and great weekend. Below are some picture that I took of the weekend along with a video of the clams I told you about in my second post.

Sanibel Update #2

(if you have not read my first update, you may read it by clicking HERE!)

This morning as we woke up at about 10:00, we woke up to the move happy feet. While watching the movie we all enjoyed breakfast in the room that we had bought at the grocery store last night. One the movie was over we all quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed to the beach for the day. Th beach was amazingly peaceful and calm. At first there were a few clouds covering the sun, but then the sun burst out. As my sister and I headed into the water we noticed that the further out we got the higher the sand got and the lower the water got. As my parents hopped into the water with us we all journeyed further out into deeper, but still shallow, waters. We each had a floating noodle thing with us to float on. Once we were in there for a while my parents and sister got out. I stayed in for a while, but eventually got out. My neck was burning so I covered myself in my towel and almost fell asleep while listening to the birds chirping and the beach waves splashing the shore. After a while my Dad and sister went back into the hotel to make our lunch. They brought our lunch out and we all ate. Then my parents and sister stayed in the beach chairs as I went into the water. I didn't really make it into the water until I noticed something moving. I looked down and right in the shore where the water flowed over were extremely small clams. I sat down and watched nature at its work. The clams would be at the top of the sand and then once the water came over them they came out of there shells and dug themselves into the sand! It was amazing!!! I shot a video of this, but like I said in my earlier post I forgot my camera hookup thing. (So on Sunday when we get back, I will update my blog with the video and pictures of the weekend.)
Once we swam a little more, relaxed a little more, and ate a little more. We headed back to the hotel for our showers. After we all freshened up a little bit we headed out to dinner. Tonight we ate at a place called the Island Cow. The place was very good. Besides the crowd, the food was great and it had a very good atmosphere. We all loved this place and would recommend it to anyone. There were cows everywhere, they even had a cow table outside. After diner we went to a little souvenir shop called T-Shirt Hut. We all got a shirt and a few other things and then headed back to the hotel to unload our stuff and get ready for the movies and ice-cream. We headed on our way to Ft. Myers Beach to go to Mr. G's House of 2,000 flavors. Now, the name is VERY misleading. I was all excited, "wow, 2,000 flavors! Yay!" when we got to the Ice Cream shop we went in and there were maybe 50 flavors. Although I was very disappointed in the name the ice cream was very good. After the ice cream we walked around all the shops and on the fishing dock. Once finished wondering we headed out to find the closest movie theatre. We found a theatre and checked the showtimes for the movie Hancock. The next showing was at 9 and it was 8. So we found a CVS and got candy for the movie, goggles for the beach and pool, and batteries for my mom and I's digital cameras. Then we headed to the movie theatre. There were barely anyone at the theatre when we got there. So we bought our tickets and headed into the theatre. Once in the theatre there were still no people, but we noticed that the theatre we were at was a dinner theatre. So we ordered some drinks ad popcorn with our candy and after a little while, a lot of people showed up. Before the movie started I pulled out my gummy worms to start eating them. A waitress lady walked up to me and my sister (who was eating her gummy bears) and said that they had a policy of no outside food or drinks. Once she left the guy in front of us turned around and started joking with us saying that he was about to eat his chocolate covered raisins. We started talking to him and his wife and we found out that they lived in Davie! They were very nice, but once we REALLY started talking the movie started. My mom, dad, and sister thought that the movie was great. I thought the movie was good, but not the best. It was weird and confusing in my opinion. After the movie we headed back to the hotel to go to bed.

Tomorrow we head back home. Please pray for us to have a safe travel back home and be sure to check out my blog on Monday to see the whole update of our trip with pictures and videos.

Sanibel Island update #1

As we set off this morning at about 10:20, we were setting off on an adventure! It honestly felt like forever getting there, about 2 hours and 30 minutes. To get to Sanibel we had to cross over this huge overpass. The beaches around us were very clear and calm.

As we arrived at our hotel, Holiday Inn, we unpacked our luggage and ate a very exquisite lunch! (no really! we had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches' along with my moms brownies) After lunch we set out to travel the island. The island we are on is made up of two parts, Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. We traveled all the way to Captiva Island (which was not that far) and looked at all the little shops, houses, and beaches. Some of the houses in Captiva are HUGE!!! On our way back to our hotel we stopped at a grocery store called Bailey's. We picked up some groceries we needed and then headed back to our hotel. Then once we made it back to our amazing hotel we quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed out to the beach. We were there for about an hour taking pictures, swimming, and walking the beach.
Then we headed back to our hotel room to get our showers to head out to Timbers Restaurant and fish market for dinner. It was very good according to my mom, dad, and sister who all got seafood, but I do not like any kind of seafood so I got pasta with marinara sauce. It was actually very god and our server was great!

Once we got back from the restaurant we returned to the hotel and we walked the beach and collected seashells. After collected many seashells we hopped in the car and traveled to Dairy Queen for some amazing dessert. Dairy Queen was very good, but it was so packed!!! Then when we returned to the hotel we all changed clothes and chilaxed! It was a great day and I cannot wait to see what tomorrow may bring!

(some of you may be looking for some pictures of us! well, i brought my camera, I brought my batteries, but I forgot my cord that hooks the camera to the computer!!! So the pictures on this post and the others to come are from online, but on Sunday once we return home I will update my blog with MANY pictures of the weekend)
